More than 80 Speech-Language Pathologists make up our professional learning community at large and their knowledge and expertise as well as that of guest speakers make this professional learning community a place to learn and connect with other professionals.

The "Inadequate Communication Functioning Guide" was designed to guide decision-making around eligibility and to help determine the need for specially designed instruction:


This Inadequate Communication Functioning Guide SUPPLEMENTED version (created by Diane Katakowski) demonstrates how the above guide may be used to guide decision-making:


The "RIOT/ICEL Functional Questions" is intended to be used as-needed. Asking the "right" questions can be helpful to gain needed information. The Speech-Language Pathologist PLC created these sample questions to be used as a reference for this purpose.

After reviewing a number of norm documents, the Speech-Language Pathologist PLC voted to reference the Iowa Nebraska Articulation Norms to guide decision-making around eligibility and to help determine the need for specially designed instruction:

This report template was created to include the data and information gathered in the Inadequate Communication Functioning Guide. The Speech-Language Pathologist PLC created this template for Speech-Language Pathologists in the county to adapt and utilize to meet their needs, while at the same time creating consistency of practice.
